The Wichita Area Mustangs Car Show

schedule

Saturday, July 8

10:00 pm – 5:00

In 1961, Lee Iacocca, vice president and general manager of Ford Division, had a vision. His vision was a car that would seat four people, have bucket seats, a floor mounted shifter, be no more than 180 inches long, weigh less than 2500 pounds, and sell for less than $2500.00. Out of this vision, the Ford Mustang was born. After many months of meetings, discussions and market surveys, funding was finally approved for the Mustang in September of 1962. On March 9, 1964 the first Mustang rolled off of the assembly line. As of August 2018, over 10 million Mustangs have been produced.

The Wichita Area Mustangs are holding a summer car show this year in conjunction with the Sand Creek Summer Daze Festival. This is a great opportunity to come out and experience a menagerie of Ford Mustangs. There will be cars on display from every decade and then some. This show is free to the public. Wichita Area Mustangs is a local Mustang club based out of Wichita, Kansas. Membership spreads to various surrounding areas such as Haysville, Derby, Mulvane, Wichita, Valley Center and a few others.
